The Prophet Kahlil Gibran

The book is a poetic narration of different aspects of life.  Although named ‘The Prophet’, it resembles the teachings of the Christ (The original texts was and is all same anyway). What is striking about this book is that those who have known something so closely asking Prophet to speak about the same, like the woman holding the baby against her bosom asking to speak about children, teacher asking the Prophet to speak about teaching to know the deeper dimensions. This feature also points out that somewhere we pursue a higher meaning in (through) what we do, be it in a daily living. Although it took some time for me get into the flow of the poetic author, it has been extremely delightful, am reading it again…it takes to a beautiful different time and land. Knowledge interposed in phrase like text, and the endeavour put into its composing undoubtedly makes this one of the best reads.
